Back carries the call to action
One sentence, one action. NFC variant says 'Tap phone to NFC Tag'. QR/Data Matrix variant prompts a scan. Both open the item in Scannable.

Wayfinder, not the chip
The NFC tag or 2D code sits inside the product — the hangtag is the intro. Once the item is registered, the hangtag can be removed.
